A
Responsible Member of the Community
Just
as the company is dependent on its employees, the community is dependent
on its citizens. Drawing on many community resources in order to operate
our business, it is only right that the company share some of its resources
with society. Through corporate contributions and the activities of individual
employees, Panasonic
Electronic Devices Corporation of America is actively involved in the
local education system, Chamber of Commerce, health and charitable organizations,
youth activities, and industrial, cultural, and international societies.
Panasonic
Electronic Devices Corporation of America encourages personal involvement of employees
and many hold leadership positions in the community.
As
the first Japanese industry in the greater Knoxville community, Panasonic
Electronic Devices Corporation of America recognized the opportunity to share its trans-Pacific culture with the
citizens of Knoxville. The Panasonic
Tennessee-Japan
Cultural Exchange Foundation annually sends four Knox County high school
students on a two week study program to Japan. Since the first trip in
1990, this program has impacted the lives and perspectives of dozens of
the finest young citizens in Knox County.
Good
citizenship extends also to the world of nature around us. An Environmental
Management System registered to the international environmental standards
of ISO 14001 is in place in all of Panasonic
Electronic Devices Corporation of America's
manufacturing facilities. Through community service and a strong sense
of corporate responsibility, Panasonic
Electronic Devices Corporation of America strives
to contribute both as a corporation and as individual citizens. We believe,
through mutual understanding and support between the company and the community,
both will prosper.
